| The iBoard
The iBoard is a new kind
of dynamic keyboard that will help people using a computer in businesses,
engineering, music and games (amongst others).
The software makes it
possible for companies and users to make their own signs and symbols for
other products or programs. The Internet portal makes it easy to download
personal ’profiles’ for alphabets, key settings or share symbols with other
people.
Some few examples on how
to use an iBoard:
Example 1: When
you are traveling in a foreign country and experience difficulties using
a 'local' keyboard during your attempt to write an e-mail.
Example 2: Consider
a programmer programming with an iBoard. The programmer is able to place
symbols representing a frequently used command on the keyboard. The speed
of input to the computer increases rapidly which means saving a lot of
time and money. |
Example
3: The game industry with all commands to all the different games.
Many games today have a lot of different function associated to the keys.
The players have to remember the keys to be able to play with an acceptable
performance. With an iBoard the player get visual support playing the very
same games.
Example 4: Graphical
designers often use either several different graphical application or a
graphical application that contains many various functions. All these different
functions can be represented on keys with their own specific symbol. Time
and efficiency improvement is the result in this very case.
Example 5: Each
robot in an industry has its own way to be manoeuvred. With an iBoard the
robot sends its own symbols and functions to it. That is what we call 'computer
aid' for industrial workers.
Example 6: Since
children are more confident with alphabetic order than the 'qwerty' key
set, research has shown that children learn to use a keyboard faster
when the characters are put in alphabetic order.
Example 7: Analphabetic
and/or handicapped people can have great use of such an intuitive keyboard
as well.
